This guide will tell you how to join the Dark Brotherhood, a group of assassins, in Skyrim
Ask for the latest rumours in any tavern until you hear something about Aventus Aretino

Go to Windhelm and enter the Aventus Residence (You will need to pick a lock)
Talk to Aventus and he will mistake you for a Dark Brotherhood assassin. He will then ask you to kill a woman in Riften.
Go to the Honorhall Orphanage in Riften and kill Grelod the Kind (she's not really kind, she beats the children and refuses to let them be adopted. She even locks them in her closet)
Go back to Aventus and receive the Aretino Family Heirloom
Just wait a while and a courier should come to you with a letter. It has a handprint and the words 'We Know' on it
Sleep for a while and you will be kidnapped by the Dark Brotherhood*
Do not kill the person who kidnapped you or you will not be able to join the Dark Brotherhood.
